Questions people actually ask

No sales copy in this section. If the honest answer is “it depends”, we say what it depends on.

Is the in-home measure really free?

Yes, and it carries no obligation. A consultant comes to you with samples, measures every opening properly and leaves you with a written quote. If you decide against it, that is the end of it — there is no call-out fee and no follow-up campaign.

Why can you not give me a price over the phone?

Because everything is made to measure. The price of a blind depends on the exact width and drop, the fabric, the control and the fixing, and those change per window. A phone number would either be a guess or a ceiling price designed to protect us. The written quote after the measure is itemised per window, which is the only honest way to do it.

Can you match blinds to windows we already have?

Usually. Bring us one of the existing blinds or send a photograph of the headrail and we will tell you whether the system is still current. Where it is not, we can often match the slat size, colour and control closely enough that a new blind sits comfortably beside the old ones.

Do you work with architects and builders during a renovation?

Yes, and it is the right time to involve us. Concealed blind boxes, side channels, external shading headboxes and cabling all need to be planned before the ceiling closes. Send the window schedule and we will return the recess dimensions and power positions the builder needs.

How long does manufacture take?

It depends on the product and the volumes running at the time, so we put the honest figure in writing on the quote before you commit. Simple interior blinds are quickest; motorised, external and shaped products take longer because they are engineered to your opening.

What is the difference between a roller shutter and a roller blind?

A roller blind is fabric on a tube on the inside of the room. A roller shutter is rigid aluminium slats that roll down on the outside of the building, in front of the glass. They do different jobs: the blind controls light and privacy inside; the roller shutter stops sun, heat and glare before they reach the window at all. Ours are shading shutters, not security-rated shutters — that is a different specification, available on request.

Which blinds are best for a bathroom or a scullery?

Aluminium venetians or a wipeable roller. Timber does not belong where there is steam — it will eventually swell — and fabric that stays damp will mark. Aluminium tilts, wipes clean and does not care about the humidity.

Can existing blinds be motorised?

Often, yes. Rechargeable lithium tube motors retrofit into many existing roller systems with no wiring at all. Older or unusual headrails sometimes cannot take a motor, in which case we will say so rather than force it. We check at the measure.

Do you repair blinds you did not supply?

Yes. Restringing, chain and mechanism replacement, re-hanging after painting or a move, and slat replacement where the profile is still available. If a blind is past worth repairing we will tell you that instead of charging for a repair that will not last.

What happens to my details after I enquire?

They are used to arrange your consultation call-back and to prepare your quote, and nothing else. We do not sell or share them and we do not add you to a marketing list (POPIA).
